Haven't blogged for quite a while.. and i'm just gonna talk bout last wk's stuff too..
15 JULY 2003, an unforgettable day... SYF Central Judging for String Ensemble... we were off sch in the morning.. and only had to report later.. on my way to sch.. i already had butterflies in my stomach until i arrived in sch and things started messing up.. like we're meeting at the wrong places.. not having enough stands.. and having to run back and forth from music centre to main block to get stands.. was dripping wif perspiration when i sat down to rehearse.. plus i was in the number 2 uniform. running around wif court shoes is just not fantastic...
Rehearsal was without Mr Chan.. we did it ourselves.. and thought it was averagely ok.. played thru 2 or 3 times.. and gave little encouraging photos to my ensemble.. hopw tt motivated them to play their best.. oh yes.. before rehearsing.. i heard that TK got a GOLD!!.. was delighted that we finally got it back aft getting silver last yr.. great job TKGians! =)
On our arrival in NYGH, the atmosphere was tense.. or at least.. i was pretty nervous.. the girls excused ourselves to go to the ladies.. and on the way there.. met our dearest NJ ensemble.. wished my numerous friends there good luck.. think they were quite nervous.. haha.. attempted to calm them down.. namely.. Jesher, Dennis, Phoebe.. yupyup.. think i only know those ppl from NJ..
Then we tuned in this lecture theater... since we were not allowed to tune inside. i think it was pretty dumb cos we were not in the same atmosphere.. came from air con LT to the normal humid air outside the audi.. and back into the air con audi.. well.. i dunno.. just crossed our fingers that our instruments won't be too out of tune..
sitting on stage felt like 1 min.. it was so fast.. faster than a tornado.. was really relieved that everything was over and i think we did a great job.. then waiting for results wasn't the best thing in the world..
they then announced.. " SYF central judging - String Ensembles"
"National JC, Silver"
i didn't have a very gd feeling when i heard tt..
"Raffles JC, Gold"
the feeling became worse..
"Temasek JC, Sliver"
i didn't dare open my ears...
"Anglo-Chinese Junior College, GOLD".. haha.. i couldn't believe my ears and leapt for joy.. then i just couldn't hear the rest of the results anymore..i wept for joy..uncontrollably..tears started streaming down my eyes..hugged the tchers..and my ensemble..thank them for playing such a great part in wat we have achieved today.. we made history by getting a GOLD! =) we really did..
great thanks to the tchers, Mrs Wilson and Ms Leong for their dedication to the ensemble! and my sincere apologies if i almost burst ur arteries.. i'm really sorrie.. i'm sorrie for the times i haven't been a great leader... and am thankful for all the lessons u guys have taught me!.. thank you!!! Thanks to Mr Chan too.. who was so ever patient wif us.. =)
was way too overjoyed.. post SYF celebrations was marvellous...went swensons and chalked up a bill of dunno how much... then went andrea's house to watch Austin Powers.. was so tired that i slept thru the 2nd disc.. haha.. we then went home..
i had a great year wif my ensemble this yr.. thanks to all the members for ur support!.. u guys were great! couldn't have done it without u ppl.. =)
