Bush in NUS"Why didn't I get an invitation to George Bush?"
This has been the recent hype in NUS admist the closure of the arts canteen and the looming exams. Well, not just one, but quite a few have asked me that question. Seems like tons of people want to meet this President of America. Then I was just wondering, he's just another man! Why does everyone want to meet a mere man, and scramble for invites to this event of which security is so tight you probably have to surrender your I/C to see a doll-sized Bush on stage. Tight security, there's probably a dress code like coat and tie, gazillion vehicle checks, bag checks, road closures before you can actually meet this mere man. Ok, so he's the President of America.
But why do so few people want to meet Jesus? He is available anytime, anywhere. Just come as you are, and Jesus would be more than happy to recieve you. Don't need to deliberately dress up, don't need for any bag checks, or body searches. The fact is Jesus has already sent the invitation, no need to scramble for one. But why the lack in response? God has always been waiting for people to respond, to respond to the invites He has already sent out, when He died on the Cross and rose again.
